French finesse with a Scandinavian touch

Aurélien Barbry is an experienced and proficient designer from France. With honours, he graduated in industrial and interior architect from Camondo School in Paris. A job for the Pritzker award-winning architect, Jean Nouvel, sparked the beginning of his career and today he runs his own design studio based in both Copenhagen and New York. His work includes several collaborations with well-acclaimed international Scandinavian brands in industrial product, furniture & lighting.

To Aurélien Barbry it is a personal mission to reinstate everyday forms. Minimalistic and accurate. When starting a new design process, he always searches for existing shapes and structures. Aiming to optimize and infuse the form with a functional and aesthetic approach.

“My design philosophy is to move objects towards more simplicity and obviousness. To create a dialogue with the end-user and to renew typologies”

– Aurélien Barbry

Amel is Aurélien Barbry’s first design for WOUD. His unique approach to design infuses the collection with aesthetic and a playful product. The aim to renew the typology reveals in the design, that challenges the idea of a simple vase construction.
